Photos: Nigeria's EFCC Arrests 2 Chinese Nationals For Bribery and Corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria has arrested 2 Chinese nationals, Mr Koi Xu and Mr Wei Kun Meng for offering a bribe of 50 Million Naira to one of their zonal head, Mr Lawal.
The 2 Chinese Nationals were arrested yesterday which is May 11,2020 in Sokoto State. Sokoto State is located in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Mr Koi Xu and Mr Wei Kun Meng allegedly offered a bribe in a desperate move to compromise an ongoing investigations of a Chinese construction company located in Nigeria, China Zhonghao Nig. Ltd, the company was handling some contracts that was being awarded by the Zamfara Govt in the sum of 50 billion naira between the year 2012 to 2019.
EFCC is investigating the Chinese Company in connection with the execution of contracts for the construction of over 168 solar-powered boreholes in the 14 local government areas and the construction of township roads in Gummi, Bukkuyun, Anka and Nassarawa towns of Zamfara.
Scared of being prosecuted by the EFCC, the company reached out to Mr Lawal and offered to pay the bribe of 100 million naira in order to forget and bury the matter.
Mr Lawal played along with them and decided to meet on Monday ( 1, May, 2020 ), 2 reps of the company offered Mr Lawal of 50 Million Naira as first installment payment in their office along airport road, Sokoto State.
